The Glowforge app cuts and scores along vector paths and engraves filled regions, so a raster image must become a clean SVG before your laser can use it well. This tool traces it locally in your browser with no upload, so your project files stay yours. For Glowforge work we default numColors to a very low 4, because the laser separates distinct regions rather than photographic gradients; collapsing the image to a few tones gives crisp boundaries the app reads as clean cut or engrave operations. A raised pathomit removes the noise specks that would become tiny, wasteful laser moves, and tight ltres and qtres keep curves smooth so the head traces a continuous contour. Enable Cartoon Mode to flatten a busy photo into bold engrave-ready shapes, or drop numColors to 2 for pure cut-line silhouettes. Import the SVG, assign each color to cut, score, or engrave, and run the job.
