How to use the Convert Drawing to Vector SVG — Free Sketch Vectorizer

Use Case

For illustrators and designers who scanned or photographed a hand-drawn sketch and want to convert those pencil or ink lines into clean, editable vector paths.

Privacy

A scanned or photographed drawing carries paper texture, uneven lighting, and pencil grain that a basic tracer turns into a mess — this tool is tuned to fix that, and it does all the work in your browser so your original artwork is never uploaded. We default numColors to 4 to flatten paper shading and lighting gradients into clean tonal regions, and we lean on a moderately high pathomit to wipe out the speckle from paper texture and scanner noise. The threshold helps separate your actual ink and pencil lines from the off-white background, so faint paper tone falls away while your linework stays. Tight ltres and qtres preserve the natural flow of hand-drawn curves instead of chopping them into stiff segments. The result is an editable SVG you can recolor, refine, or scale to print size. For a clean ink drawing on white, drop numColors to 2 for pure linework; for a shaded pencil sketch, keep it higher to retain the tonal values, or enable Cartoon Mode to bias toward bold, poster-like shapes.
