Doing it by hand means masking the subject in Photoshop; here the cutout is automatic. Drop in a photo and an AI segmentation model, running locally in your browser, separates the person from the background in a couple of seconds. Type your text, pick a font and weight, and drag it into place — it renders behind the subject in real time, with size, rotation, letter spacing, colour, stroke and drop shadow all adjustable. Segmentation is never perfect on wispy hair or a busy background, so an erase/add brush is built in to clean the mask edge by hand.
