A soft or compressed image lacks high-frequency detail, which a normal sharpen filter can't truly recover — it just exaggerates edges and adds halos. AI super-resolution takes a different approach: the model predicts and reconstructs the missing fine detail as it processes the image, which genuinely reduces the blurry, mushy look of compressed or low-resolution sources. This tool runs that model in your browser, accelerated by WebGPU where available, so nothing is uploaded and there's no usage cap. It's well suited to screenshots, downloaded images that arrived over-compressed, and photos that look slightly soft. Enlarge by 2× or 4× to give the model room to add detail, then download the full-resolution, watermark-free result. Because the processing is local, even sensitive screenshots stay private. Note that AI can't invent detail that was never captured — a severely out-of-focus photo has limits — but for typical softness and compression blur, the improvement is clear.
